When darkness filled Arjuna’s heart,
And fear had torn his soul apart,
Krishna spoke with gentle grace,
A calm and timeless shining face.
“You grieve for those who need no tears,
Beyond the reach of mortal fears.
The soul is neither born nor dies,
It lives beyond the changing skies.”

Bodies may fade like leaves in the wind,

“As a man casts worn-out clothes aside,
And takes new garments with fresh pride,
So does the soul leave mortal frame,
And takes new life again the same.
No sword can cut the soul divine,
No fire can burn its sacred shine.
No water wets, no wind can dry,
The soul will live, it cannot die.”
